I have never travelled solo before. Is this for me?

That is exactly who this is built for. The planning is done, a Trip Leader is with you from start to finish, and every trip is designed so that everyone joins alone. The only decision left is to go.

Who else will be on the trip?

Solo travellers like you, aged 21 and up, with no upper limit — independent, curious people, in a small group capped at 15. And because everyone books their own flights, the group is open to travellers joining from anywhere in the world. Small enough to feel personal. Large enough to find your people.

How much of the trip is group time?

As much as you want. Every itinerary shows exactly which parts are shared and which are yours — guided experiences bring the group together, and genuine free time is built into every day. Spend every meal in company, or disappear with a coffee and a book. And if you do not connect with the group, that is okay — there is no obligation, ever.

Do I have to share a room?

By default, you share a twin room with another solo traveller. That is what keeps the price at group rates, with no solo supplement. Prefer your own space? Upgrade to a private room on any trip.

Who will I be sharing with?

Another solo traveller from your group, of the same gender. You will have your own bed, always. If you would rather not share at all, choose the private room upgrade when you book.

What standard of accommodation can I expect?

Comfortable, well-reviewed places close to where you want to be. Think boutique guesthouse or well-rated local hotel — never a hostel dorm.

What does the trip price include?

Your room, a Trip Leader throughout, local guides, the activities on the itinerary, airport pick-up and drop-off on the official start and end dates, and support from start to finish. Flights are not included — you choose the airline, use your miles, or extend your stay. And because everyone books their own flights, you can join us from anywhere in the world.

Are meals included?

Mostly no — and that is deliberate. You choose where to eat, what to spend, and who to join. We bring the group to areas with good food; the decision stays yours. In remote places where that is not practical, meals are arranged and included.

Would it be cheaper to plan this myself?

Sometimes — if your time costs nothing. We deliberately choose destinations that are rewarding but hard to do alone: places where a driver or a guide costs the same whether one person books them or ten. Alone, you pay all of it — and spend dozens of hours planning around sparse transport and language barriers. In a LocoSolo group, those costs are split, and the planning is already done. You pay group rates as one person — no solo supplement — and spend your time travelling, not organising. Compare for yourself: every journey page lists exactly what is included.

How much is the deposit?

It varies by journey and is shown on each Trip Details page, next to the full price. Registering interest costs nothing — you pay only when dates are released and you are ready.

How do I reserve my spot?

Register your interest first — it is free and commits you to nothing. Once dates are released, secure your place with a deposit, or pay in full. Questions before booking? Ask us anything.

When will my trip be confirmed?

Each departure needs a minimum number of travellers — typically around six. The moment your trip is confirmed, we tell you — so you can book flights with confidence.

What if the trip does not reach minimum numbers?

You receive a full refund of all payments made to LocoSolo. And if alternative dates or destinations are available, we will let you know — so you can still go.

When should I book my flights?

After your trip is confirmed — and we will tell you the moment it is. Flexible fares are always a good idea, and we share the ideal arrival and departure times to match the airport transfers.

What if I need to cancel?

Terms vary by trip. The full policy is on each Trip Details page — read it before you pay the deposit.

Do I need a visa?

Visa requirements depend on your destination and your passport. Travel documents are your responsibility — check early, before your trip is confirmed.

Is it safe to travel solo with LocoSolo?

Yes. We design every journey ourselves, vet every place you stay, and run it with established local partners we have researched and chosen carefully.

What if something goes wrong on the trip?

Your Trip Leader is your first call — on the ground, with you. Comprehensive travel insurance is required for every traveller — covering medical costs, cancellation, delays, and personal belongings — to protect you if something unexpected happens.

Can you accommodate dietary needs?

Yes — tell us before you book, and we will let the hotels and restaurants know ahead of any included meals. For accessibility needs, talk to us first; we will be honest about what each journey can accommodate.
